Synthetic Manual Transmission & Transaxle Gear Lube is recommended for applications requiring a 75W-85, 75W-90 or 80W-90 viscosity gear oil with any of the listed specifications:

Replaces GM part #12346190 and Chrysler part #4874459. Examples of transmissions and transaxles requiring a 75W-90, API GL-4 lubricant include certain models of Hyundai, Infiniti, Kia, Lexus, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Suzuki, Toyota, Volkswagen and Hino.

Examples of street rod and muscle car transmissions include Muncie, Borg Warner, Saginaw, Ford Toploader, Dearborn and New Process.

Product Description
Towing, heavy hauling and performance driving create shock-loading conditions and elevated heat that threaten the performance and life of manual transmissions and transaxles. Making matters worse, horsepower, torque and towing capacities seem to increase with each new vehicle model year, increasing severity. AMSOIL Synthetic Manual Transmission & Transaxle Gear Lube is specifically formulated to reduce friction and maintain viscosity for long component and fluid life. It is designed to excel in severe-service conditions that exceed the limitations of conventional fluids.

Protects Against Wear & Heat in Severe Applications
Synthetic Manual Transmission & Transaxle Gear Lube is shear-stable and maintains its viscosity despite rigorous mechanical action. It provides a thick lubricating film and contains extreme-pressure additives to protect against wear in severe-service and shock-loading conditions common when towing or hauling. It resists thermal degradation and oxidation for excellent performance in high-temperature applications, such as the New Venture NV-4500 transmission, which retains heat due to its cast-iron housing and is often subject to increased torque from turbodiesel engines.

Service Life
Under normal operating conditions AMSOIL Synthetic Manual Transmission & Transaxle Gear Lube last two times longer than conventional petroleum GL-4 gear oils. Where the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) recommends synthetic oils, follow the OEM drain interval (such as NV-4500).

Great product!!

I have used this product sense 2008, when doing fluid change this past year in a 3500 Dodge 6-speed with lots of hauling miles it still looked like the day I put it in. I believe in Amsoil products, I wouldn't trust any other brands to keep things running longer an being able to perform 100% without worrying about mechanical breakdowns. Original transmission has over 250,000 miles now with no issues. Don't hesitate to buy a great product!

Smoother shifts and happy diffs

I have used this in my transaxles for years, smooth shifting with protection good enough for track duty. Recently added a limited slip diff to my transaxle and it performs beautifully with the amsoil gear lube. I will not run anything else.

The ONLY way to go for a NV4500

The NV4500 is a unique beast. It is a five speed tranny build by New Venture Gear in conjunction with Castrol to meet the ever growing demand for a stout manual overdrive tranny to back up the stronger diesel motors found in modern pickup trucks. A new gear lube was formulated for this specific transmission. I had owned my Chevy for awhile with this tranny in it when the clutch began to fail. After an overhaul, the tranny shop installed conventional manual gear lube. Within three weeks, I couldn't hardly shift the truck into first or reverse and it was even getting hard to get it into second. I did my own research and found out about the special fluid. I immediately checked to see if Amsoil handled a fluid formulated like the Castrol Syntorque designed for the NV4500 and was overjoyed to see that they did. After changing the fluid, I noticed an immediate difference, a great improvement in shift quality throughout the gear range and rpm powerband. Once again Amsoil delivers a great product suited for a specific need. I would highly recommend this product to anyone owning a vehicle equipped with the NV4500.

Chevy 4 speed

I used this product in my 1969 427 Camaro. I've have this car for over 20 years and have used the GM trans gear lube and multiple other brands over the years. Nothing have worked better or have even come close. There was a noticeable difference right away. The shifts seems so much smoother and it actually felt like everything was tighter and a lot less slop. I would highly recommend this product. I even used the gear lube in the squeezable pouches.....it made it so much easier and also worked great.

2005 Toyota Tacoma 6-Speed manual

Changed out transfer case and transmission out of factory oil at 75,000 miles. Now it is as smooth as the day I drove it off the lot. Great stuff. Would highly recommend. Bought more to put on the shelf for the next change. I won’t wait as long to change out next time.

Great Product

First time using this product and it is the best product i have used to date. Please note that if you use a pump to install that the bottle opening is bigger so have the appropriate sized pump for that. I onlyhad the normal size at the time so i have to improvise.

Put 7 quarts in my cummins g56 transmission after reading several good reviews of this fluid and i could not been happier only issue is i should have done it sooner. The truck is quieter and no issues with shifting at all. Dodges atf4 is not what mercedes says is the correct fluid for the transmission as this is one of the easily obtained fluid for consumers in north america to get. I will be swapping this into the axles when the time come for their service as well.

Not for high mileage trans

I've had good luck in the past with this product, but after putting it in my 296k mile trans it is harder to shift and makes more noise. I will have to switch to a synchromesh or try another product.

Not impressed

Put this in a 07 Pontiac vibe (as recommend on amsoil website), it worked great for about 4000 km but then ran into issues with shifting and gears grinding, switched it out to the severe gear oil and never looked back, way better performance now. Now I am sure this product would work great in other manual transmissions.

Smooth shift.

Good Stuff So Far

Like New Again!

I just finished a clutch job on a shop truck (97 Dodge 2500) that has been through more than one over the last few years due to a number of different drivers.
